About Albion Lutheran Church

Albion Lutheran Church is a warm and faithful rural congregation located between Sleepy Eye and St. James in Southern Minnesota. Established by Norwegian settlers in 1871, we are a historic community of 155 years and counting! Our congregation is committed to biblical preaching, and we desire to grow in discipleship, outreach, and service. Albion values traditional worship, intergenerational fellowship, and a shared mission to proclaim Christ in our community.

We are seeking a Christ-centered, Scripture‑grounded Pastor to provide spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and administrative guidance. Our church is rooted deeply in Christian faith, joyfully confessing the Triune God, the authority of Holy Scripture, the saving work of Jesus Christ, and the Lutheran Confessions as our guiding principles for faith and practice.

We are a member congregation of LCMC (Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ) and uphold its Statement of Faith and Pastoral Admonition.

Pastor Qualifications:

Strong Christian faith demonstrated through worship, prayer, and study.
Master of Divinity degree (or equivalent) with ongoing commitment to theological education.
Solid grounding in Scripture and Lutheran theology, including:
- The Book of Concord
- Proper distinction of Law and Gospel
- Core Reformation principles: Christ alone, faith alone, Scripture alone, grace alone, the cross alone
Clear, concise communication skills in preaching, teaching, and personal interaction.
Ability to relate biblical truth to daily life with clarity and conviction.
Commitment to the Albion Lutheran Church Constitution and Statement of Faith.
